Glarner Sagen by Kaspar Freuler was long out of print, finally reissued by BAESCHLIN VERLAG in 2022.
The book divides the canton into four regions - the hiking cycle begins in the lowlands, i.e. the front part of the canton towards the Linth plain.

The second hike in the five-part series leads into the rather shady Klöntal valley with its wetlands.

This fourth hike in the Sernftal valley takes us to the sun terrace near Weissenberge.

On the fifth hike, we cook in this self-catering hut high above the Obersee, in the transition to the Klöntal.
At this fireplace we will hear a few more legends under the full moon.
We will spend the night well protected from storms and storms in this attic.

Tour description

These five hikes, four one-day hikes and one two-day hike with an overnight stay in a self-catering hut, will all take place in May 2024.

The themed hikes follow literary traces, as collected by Kaspar Freuler and Fridolin Hauser as "Glarner Sagen" and published in 1952. Each of the five hikes stands for itself. They do not follow an "inner logic", but rather scenically varied paths along which interesting natural phenomena and legendary motifs can be discovered and told. These spring hikes are good preparation for longer tours and open up the Glarus valleys just outside Zurich.

If you book the legendary "Glarus Legends" hiking package, you pay a flat rate of CHF 500, including all cable cars and mountain taxis, instead of CHF 671.
