A lookout jewel
Tour description
The Hirzli is regarded as the most rewarding vantage point in the Glarnerland. Fantastic panoramic and deep views of Lake Walen and Lake Zurich, snow-capped and high peaks (Mythen/Säntis) and sometimes even the Black Forest await you. At the beginning of the tour you will meet sculptures and the hiking guide will tell you about an exciting legend. On the pleasantly shady and entertaining ascent over the Schwinfärch Alp we reach the summit and marvel at the impressive view. We reach our second destination of the day, the Planggenstock, on an exciting Nagelfluhgrat. Although a few exposed spots require a head for heights, they are secured with wire ropes and therefore do not pose any particular difficulty. We continue over the varied Kämmli ridge down to Muosalp and through the beautiful Flüewald with its jungle character back to the starting point, where we treat ourselves to a summer refreshing refreshment in the Hirzli mountain restaurant shortly before the endpoint Morgenholz.
