To the hidden idyll below the Vrenelisgärtli
Tour description
This hike in early summer to the remote little lakes high above Linthal is a gem. From the bottom of the valley, you would never guess that between the rugged rock faces of the Glärnisch lies an intermediate saddle with wide hollows, alps and lakes. You will discover this hidden mountain world on this day and themed hike. Because such natural phenomena are usually surrounded by exciting stories and legends.
From Schwändi, we ascend on a good path and later on a mountain trail. We take our first break at Unterstaffel before reaching the open valley of Guppenalp on the Furggeli. This is where the pleasure hike begins, always gently downhill across rich flower meadows to Guppenseeli. After a short ascent, we reach the hollow with the idyllic Oberblegi lake, where a dip in the crystal-clear water is tempting in good weather and warm temperatures. After the break, we descend to Brunnenberg and take the cable car down to Luchsingen.
This area has a wealth of natural phenomena and enchanted places that characterise the world of Glarus legends and are the subject of this hike.
