The not too famous Grisons Haute Route on snowshoes

Tour description

A sensational snowshoe tour on the edge of the high mountains, which requires good weather and safe avalanche conditions – as this picture gallery from March 2026 shows.

The long, barren Dischma Valley is my favourite valley in Davos, both in summer and winter. The road is only cleared as far as Teufi, from where the untouched, expansive winter landscape to Dürrboden begins. Depending on conditions, we either make our own tracks in the simple, avalanche-safe valley floor or take the marked path. From Dürrboden, we climb along the classic ski touring route up to Fuorcla Grialetsch and cross over to the newly renovated Grialetsch hut.

On the second day, we hike through hollows and wide snow flanks until we reach the Scaletta Pass on steeper terrain. In this lonely high valley, we descend southwards over wide terraces to Alp Fufauna and take a lunch break. Now we have six long kilometres to go through the gentle Val Fufauna to the Kesch Hut.

On the third day, if avalanche conditions are safe, we will walk back through Val Funtauna and climb up to the Sertig Pass at 2,709 metres above sea level. This is followed by a steep descent down and out of the valley to Sand in the lovely Sertig Valley. If conditions are unsafe, we will descend along the official hut trail to Bergün.

An unforgettable high-altitude snowshoe hike through unspoilt terrain.
