Tour description

On the penultimate weekend before the Cluozza hut closes, late autumn has turned the forests golden and nature is at peace, we discover the side valleys, the wildlife and the beauty of the swiss national park.

We hike through the remote side valleys, which are almost impossible to reach on day hikes. From the Ofen Pass road down to the lake da Ova Spin and up the flank to the Murter, past colonies of ibex and chamois. The first night we sleep in the only hut in the park - opposite roaring deer.

On the second day, we hike up the lonely Val Sassa, on fine scree and over rock glaciers to the 2,850 metre high Fuorcla. The exposed descent through the Val Müschauns brings us back to the famous Val Trupchun for wildlife spotting and we spend the night in the Varusch park hut.

On Sunday, we set off early for the queen's stage of this national park hike: this gives us more time for wildlife spotting along the long valley and enough time for the steep ascent to Fuorcla Trupchun. On the Italian side, a steep descent down to Livigno awaits us.

If you like, you can spend a day here and do some duty-free shopping or eat Italian food - the others take the last connection back to Switzerland.
