Into a remote snow paradise of Switzerland
Tour description
In Innereriz, we hike briefly along a forest road and then cross the flat Rotmoos high moor with its sparse birch forest. From there we climb up the flank to the Trogehorn and cross below the Hohgant chain to Grossensteinen, with great views over the hills of the Emmental. Later we descend across wide alpine meadows to the wild Emme, which gave the valley its name. We check into our rooms at the Gasthof Alpenrose in Bumbach, have time for a shower and eat a Bernese platter or an à la carte veggie menu in the rustic inn.
The next morning we drive up the Emmental in an open Pinzgauer jeep, past Kemmeribodenbad to Küblisbühl. This is where our Sunday tour begins: first along the Emme through an area where wood is still felled by horse and sledge in winter. Then over a long, gentle ridge up to Heitbüel, where the wide plains of Alp Lombach open up - and the view of the Bernese Alps with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Depending on the weather, we can add another loop or descend directly to the alp, from where a mountain taxi takes us to Habkern. From here, take the postbus back to Thun and the SBB back home - after two days in a rustic landscape where most of the swiss wrestling kings grew up....

Snowshoes and avalanche equipment. Both can be hired from me. The packing list will be sent with the registration confirmation.

CHF 350.00 in a double room with shower or CHF 320.00 in a room with shared shower, both incl. breakfast.
