HOCHALP APPENZELLERHINTERLAND TRAIL
Tour description
The route to the Hochalp first runs through the forest and then over the ridge. There is an elevation gain of around 360 meters. The start and end points are both in the Bruggerenwald forest.
The trail leads along the coniferous forest to Alp Fildi. The terrain opens up and you can already see the highest point: the mountain inn and the stables of the high alpine pasture. Ahead of us lies the Säntis, behind it Lake Constance and the Fürstenland. On the ridge, we reach the highest point of the trail with an impressive panoramic view of Alpstein, Churfirsten, Stockberg, and Speer.
During a well-deserved break at the mountain inn on the Hochalp, we enjoy the fantastic view over the Appenzell hills. We then head back to our starting point via Alp Nasen and through the Bruggerenwald forest, before taking our private taxi to Urnäsch (AR) station, to round off the day together.
If there is not enough snow, we will go on an interesting winter hike without snowshoes.
